Christophe Pinna & Hassan Fekkak Training Course

WAS A SUCCESS

It was to our great advantage and beneift that Christophe PINNA and Hassan FEKKAK has been able to come to Lebanon, through an invitation by Mr. Toufic Kaawar, WSKF-Lebanon President. They have delivered a very successful training course in Beirut. It was the support of Mr. Ahmad Jarrar that he has allowed to use the sports facilities at the Rawdah High School, Jnah.

The training was attended by 124 participant. All but 5 are WSKF memebers. For the benefit of all, the participants were devided into 2 groups, children and Senior. The course was held according to the following schedule:

Place: Rawdah High School, Near Mariot Hotel

Instructors: Christophe PINNA, 4 times world champion Kumite

                   Hassan Fekkak, Africa Champion KATA

Date: May31st, June 1 & 2

Time: 6:00 - 9:00

Collective Camp

We have organized a gashuku for WSKF-Lebanon trainees all over Lebanon. It washeld in the mountains, in an area called Hrajel. It is 10 minutes away from Faraya, the Lebanese ski resort. The Instructor in this dojo is Michele Iskandar. This is the second time that Michele hosts us in her dojo for such an event.

 We stayed there for 2 days. We mixed knowledge with fun. All the participants have had a great time.

Istructors Gashuku

As a step in our continuous training program for instructors, we have organized a trainers gashuku on Sunday, August 19th, 2001. It was held in the North of Lebanon, in one of our afiliate clubs, Kasuay Dojo, whose instructor is Marwan El Hassan. 8 of the active instructors attended the course. Each and every one of them has his/her own dojo to train in.

We have decide to make it a fun day, and it was. The day was a combination of karate training as well as a social gathering. The day went as follows:

A small meeting to explain the purpose of the day
The first training sessison for 2 hrs
Lunch, which was an opportunity to have some laughs and catch up on the news
The second training session for 2 hrs

There were 2 purposes for this gashuku. One was to go over the essentials of the C-Grade training Program, the other to introduce all the instructors to the new grading program develope by Kasuya Sensei.

It is Abdallah SEnsei's strong belief that the c-grade is the most essential of all grades. It is the stepping stone of the karate-ka. It is where the karate -ka builds up the foundation of all his karate experience. Thus, a program has been developed by Abdallah Sensei, Chief instructor WSKF-Lebanon, to serve as a guide line for the instructors to follow. This program includs kihon, kata, and kumite essentail for this grade, as well as key points to keep in mind while training. It also included suggestions on how to train.

It has been a great day. We had a lot of fun. We had an opportunity to train together, and meet socially.
